Hairstyle Trend-Setters: Anne Hathaway

December 10, 2010

Anne Hathaway’s big break was playing this hairy situation in The Princess Diaries:

Imagine looking like that while being introduced to the entire world in your first big movie! Unfortunate. But as we all know now, the girl is GORGEOUS! After her princess makeover, she looked like this:

This Brooklyn-born beauty was hilarious as Mia Thermopolis, and won a ton of other great roles because of it. She’s a really talented actress – her next step was, of course, The Devil Wears Prada, where she acted alongside Meryl Streep. Then, she played Jake Gyllenhaal’s wife in Brokeback Mountain. Sweet. Now, Anne and Jake are reunited in their new movie, Love and Other Drugs. What a fabulous-looking couple these two make…

But now, onto the most important topic – Anne’s hair. I mean, it’s flawless! How did they even get it to look that awful for the Princess Diaries? She’s the perfect blend of vintage glamour and girl-next-door innocence. In particular, I absolutely love her up-do’s. She’s done everything from 1940’s style victory rolls, to ballerina buns, to fun braids. Which is your favorite?

Anne’s hairstyle in Love and Other Drugs is totally curly, loose and free, which is another beautiful look for her. I think both the long and short lengths are equally flattering for Anne… any thoughts?

What do you think about Anne’s lovely tresses straightened out? She’s great at making these simple styles look totally red-carpet ready. Here’s Anne with a few different styles of straight – short, bangs and center-parted.
