Hairstyle Hoax: The Faux Bob
Eva Longoria, Rosario Dawson and Lauren Conrad are just a few of the many A-list celebrities to pull off this season’s most clever hairstyle hoax – the faux bob. Inspired by that vintage “victory roll” style of the 1940’s, this easy updo is a great way to add some variety to your look – without the scissors and stress.
The faux bob gives the illusion of a short, choppy style by tucking longer strands under instead of cutting them off. This surprisingly simple process takes just a few minutes. It works best with layered, medium to long-length hair.
1) The faux bob works with either curly or straight hair. First, make a side part.
2) Secure an elastic near the bottom of the ponytail, about three or four inches from the end.
3) Gently twist your hair until you reach the desired length. Shape your bob, tuck everything under and pin it in place.
